Things You Didn’t Know About Coleen Garcia

COLEEN GARCIA is one of those actors who grew up infront of the camera. Working since she was 2 years old in various commercials, she blossomed into a gangly teenager and finally a woman of substance and charm.

Throughout her years in showbusiness, she’s had numerous roles in various genres, all showing her different skills and depth as an actor.

This season in her life, she is again showing us another side of her that we didn’t know. She is currently in the kick ass movie Adarna Gang, airing in Vivamax. To know her more, here are some of the things you may not know about Coleen Garcia.

Coleen was born as Danielle Claudine Ortega Garcia on September 24, 1993 in Mandaluyong, Philippines. Her father, Jose Luis Garcia is of Spanish and Filipino descent and her mother, Maria Paz Ortega, is a Filipina.

Coleen studied at the Southville International School and Colleges. She got her high school education from the Veritas Parochial School in Parañaque where she also served as the editor in chief for their schoolpaper. She is currently pursuing her tertiary degree in Psychology. Coleen is also cousins with actors Arjo and Ria Atayde.


Coleen is one of the persons we saw growing up in television. She stared appearing in commercials when she was 2, for Johnson & Johnson. As a kid she was also an image model for a clothing line. During her teenage years, she was already appearing in various commercials, with huge name actors to boot. She worked with John Lloyd Cruz, Enrique Gil and Mark Nelson.

In 2011, she finally signed as a contract artist in Star Magic. Her first television appearance was in the drama anthology Maalaala Mo Kaya as a minor character. Then in the same year, she was cast alongside other actors like Enrique Gil, James Reid, Devon Seron and Yen Santos in the teen oriented show Good Vibes.

Coleen has reached national fame when she was casted in the romantic comedy television series My Binondo Girl with Xian Lim and Kim Chiu. In 2012, she became a mainstay host at the noontime variety show It’s Showtime. She was a host for the show until 2016. In 2013, she became a permanent host and performer in the television variety show ASAP, for which she is currently still in.

What is considered to be her biggest break in television history is when she appeared as one of the leads in the romantic drama television series Pasion De Amor. This is a remake of the 2003 Colombian telenovela Pasion de Gavilanes. Coleen worked with Jane Cuenca, Arci Munoz, Ejay Falcon, Ellen Adarna and Joseph Marco.

Due to her great performance in the show, she landed her first lead role in a feature film – Ex With Benefits which was shown in 2016. She was in the film with Derek Ramsey, who portrayed her ex-boyfriend.

Coleen is busy juggling motherhood with various projects. She currently posts behind the scenes of her work and her family life in their YouTube channel, The Crawfords. The channel currently has over six hundred thousand subscribers.

Coleen also recently appeared in the romantic comedy film Mia, which tells the story of two persons who met each other at the right time. She played the role of Mia Salazar, doctor to the barrios, an alcoholic physician, whose fiancé recently died.

Coleen is also in the movie Adarna Gang. She played the role of Adriana, a vengeful and persistent woman who vowed to revenge her father’s death by targeting a powerful family’s patriarch and his three sons. The film is currently airing in VivaMax.
