Things You Didn’t Know About Marco Gumabao

SO, TELL ME who among you readers did not have a crush on Marco Gumabao when you first noticed him in the teen series Luv U? Raised your hands. I knew it. All of you did. Granted that he was geeky but cute, sweet and nerdy, we all rooted for him and his love interest, Miles Ocampo.

Fast forward to many years later, we all did admire him in his villainy-but hot role in the super popular series Los Bastardos. He played a villain but I would honestly still date him. You know what I mean.

Now that our teenage to adult crush is turning a year older, and landing great roles here and there, let us look back at his career, from a teenager to the promising actor he is today. Here are some of the things you may not know about Marco Gumabao.

EARLY LIFE

Marco was born as Marco Imperial Gumabao on August 14, 1994 to celebrity parents – Dennis Roldan and Loli Imperial. He is the fourth among five children. He also has three other half-siblings. In his growing up years, he was dedicated to the martial arts Muay Thai and had competed in various contests.

For his schooling, he attended the prestigious Ateneo High School. He continued his tertiary education at the De La Salle University, majoring in Psychology.

CARRER BEGINNINGS

He began his journey to showbusiness at the age of 18, when he appeared in the situational comedy series Toda Max in 2012. Although he did not get credit, fate has other plans for him.

In the same year, he landed a role at the Filipino teen sitcom series Luv U which ran from 2012 to 2016. In this series, he gained popularity as he appeared with veteran teen actors Miles Ocampo, Kiray Celis, CJ Navato and Nash Aguas.

 

FILMS

Marco made his film debut at the sensational blockbuster She’s Dating The Gangster, playing the character of Young Stephen besides Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo in 2014. In 2015, he played a supporting cast in the romantic drama comedy film Just The Way You Are.

2018 and 2019 were his best years yet as he appeared in three films for each year. Abay Babes, Para Sa Broken Hearted and Aurora in 2018. In 2019 he was in the films Apple of My Eye, Ulan and Just a Stranger.

BREAKTHROUGH

Marco finally landed his first major lead role in the film Para Sa Brokenhearted, which was directed by Digo Ricio and produced by Vic Del Rosario Jr. In this film, he acted besides Yassi Pressman, Sam Concepcion, Louise Delos Reyes and Shy Carlos.

One of his most iconic role yet is in the thought provoking film Hindi Tayo Pwede, playing the character of Dennis. In this film, Gabby (played by the lovely Lovi Poe) found solace with him as she struggles with the recent car accident of her fiancé (played by Tony Labrusca).

He is also well known for his portrayal of the characters Matteo Silverio / Matteo Cardinal in the popular romance series Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Los Bastardos between 2018 and 2019.

CURRENT PROJECTS

Marco Gumabao and Sharon Cuneta in ‘Revirginized’


Marco
 is set to appear in the upcoming film Revirginized with the mega star Sharon Cuneta. Directed by Darryl Yap, this film is about a woman’s awakening after years and years of being alone. The film is set to stream on August 6 and could be seen on Vivamax.

 Honestly, I have been waiting for so long for this film. The trailer really piques your interest and I want to see the chemistry between Marco and the Sharon Cuneta. So who’s with me, streaming on the 6th?
