Things You Didn’t Know About Kit Thompson

THE PUBLIC became aware of Kit Thompson when he joined Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition 4 way back in 2012. The public had their sights with the tall Kiwi-Filipino hunk.

Even if he did not win the grand prize, held by Myrtle Sarrosa, joining the PBB paved numerous projects along his way. Kit had become a household name, and there was no stopping him ever since.

As he recently appeared in the marvelous show La Vida Lena and have tons of movie projects on the way, let us look back on his career from day one. Here are some of the things you may not know about Kit Thompson.

EARLY LIFE

Kit was born was as Keith San Esteban Thompson on February 15, 1997 in Angeles, Pampanga Philippines to a Kiwi father and a Filipina mother. He was educated at the New York Film Academy, film and acting school based in New York, Los Angeles and Miami.

CAREER BEGINNINGS

Kit had been an artist under the GMA Artist Center since 2010. By then, he had already did modeling jobs. His first recorded television appearance was in the television drama series Reel love Presents Tween Hearts in 2010, which stars Barbie Forteza, Joshua Dionisio, Bea Binene and Jake Vargas.

He became a household name when he joined the reality television show Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition 4 in 2012. In the same year. He appeared in an episode in the longest running drama anthology Maalaala Mo Kaya’s episode Jacket. He also landed a role in the melodrama television series Kahit Puso’y Masugatan as Alberto Espiritu.

BREAKTHROUGH

Being in PBB did great things for Kit’s career. He landed a supporting role in the high rating television series Forevermore in 2014 as Julius San Juan. In 2016, Kit won a role in the romantic drama television series Dolce Amore. The show starred Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil. In the same year, he was a guest cast in the musical drama television series Born For You which starred Janella Salvador and Elmo Magalona.

Kit had a break from doing television series in 2017 and 2018. He was back in television in 2019 with the crime drama series Sino ang Maysala? Mea Culpa. This time, he was among the lead actors who worked besides Jodi Sta. Maria, Bela Padilla, Ketchup Eusebio, Tony Labrusca and Ivana Alawi. The show had 75 episodes in total and ran over a year.

FILMS

With his many works in television, Kit also extended his reach in the big screen. He first appeared in the romantic comedy coming of age film Must Be Love which starred the phenomenal love team Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla. In the film, which was released in 2013, Kit portrayed the role of Nico. The following year, he was in the film #Y. He also appeared in the indie film ‘Labay2Love’ with Solenn Heussaff and Dennis Trillo. In 2018, he reunited with KathNiel tandem in their movie The Hows of Us, directed by Cathy Garcia Molina.

2019 was a productive year for Kit, as he appeared in two films – Belle Douleur (playing the character of Josh) and the infamous MOMOL Nights, playing the role of Marco.

CURRENT PROJECTS

Kit recently appeared in the revenge drama television series La Vida Lena, which starred Erich Gonzales. The series, which was directed by Jerry Lopez Sineneng, Jojo Saguin and Andoy Ranay, tells the story of an underdog – Magda, who was in the quest of extracting revenge from the people who made her life miserable. Kit played the role of Miguel Villarica. In this series, he also worked with Carlo Aquino, JC de Vera and Sofia Andres.

He also appeared in the film Sarap Mong Patayin with Lassy Marquez and Ariella Arida and he is also one of the leading men in the upcoming sexy-drama Moonlight Butterfly.
