Hollywood Films to Watch Out for this 2021

THE PAST YEAR has been excruciatingly difficult for everyone of us. But just as how resilient people do, we find ways to entertain ourselves. Some with plants, some with baking, while some enjoyed binge watching on movies.

I was one of them. I managed to watch dozens upon dozens of films that I have always wanted to enjoy. It broadened my mind and took me to faraway places, despite being physically stuck in a single place.

This 2021, I am honestly more than excited to watch the highly anticipated Hollywood films that are set to premier this year. Here are the Hollywood films to watch out for this 2021.

Emma Stone in Cruella and Daniel Craig in No Time To Die

No Time To Die

Back in this classic action – thriller franchise, Daniel Craig reprises his role as the suave British undercover agent James Bond. His supposedly well-deserved retirement with the sand, sun and sea in Jamaica was disturbed suddenly when his old friend Felix (played by Jeffrey Wright) suddenly appeared asking for Bond’s help. The mission involved rescuing a kidnapped scientist and a battle against the mad Safin (played by Rami Malek).

A Quiet Place II

Although it is not John Krasinki’s directorial debut, A Quiet Place had amassed a box office sales of $341 million dollars compared to its budget of $21 million. His work had gotten praise from critiques and the king of horror himself, Stephen King. Back with the sequel, although John’s character is dead, the story revolves on another adventure that his real and reel wife, played by Emily Blunt, and children, played by Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe, had to go through in order to survive the dystopian world filled with noise sensitive monsters.

Fast and The Furious 9

The multibillion dollar franchise of swoon worthy cars, awesome stunts and great storyline comes back with another movie – the ninth in the series. This time we get to be introduced to Jakob (John Cena), who is Dominic Toretto’s half-brother. In this movie with police enforcers, assassins and world class drivers and racers, we get to see our favorite character once again – Han Lue, he is not dead!

Top Gun: Maverick

Maverick is back in the game to train another set of squad in a life threatening mission. Finally, Top Gun had gotten its sequel 35 years! The film that had catapulted Tom Cruise to stardom is back for more action packed drama and suspense with its death defying stunts and thrilling storyline. The film was directed by Joseph Kosinski and stars Jennifer Connelly, Jean Louisa Kelly, Val Kilmer and Miles Teller.

Black Widow

After years and years of clamor from fans, Black Widow has finally gotten her own movie! Scarlett Johanssen reprises her role as the deadly assassin turned super hero in this Marvel film along side other actors such as David Harbour, Florence Pugh and O-T Fagbenle. We can see more of her history and family in this much-awaited film.

Cruella

Disney is on a roll! Although it recently released the equally anticipated animated film Raya and The Last Dragon early in 2021, we are in again for another treat as Disney releases its live-action feature film Cruella. Playing the lead role, Emma Stone will give life to the younger Cruella de Vil – her past, her story and her penchant for the lovable black and white pooches. The film also stars Emma Thompson, Joel Fry Paul, Walter Hauser and Mark Strong.

Are these on your must watch movies of 2021 too? Which one are you anticipating the most?

For the movies that have prequel ( Top Gun, Fast and the Furious, A Quiet Place), maybe we should schedule our movie nights to “review” what happened previously? An excellent reason to Netflix and chill! Let me know in the comment section!
