NGAYONG September ay mapapanood na ang beauty queen turned actress na si Kylie Verzosa sa erotic thriller ng Viva Films na The Housemaid. Ipapakita sa pelikula ang kakayahan ni Kylie as an actress as she can go from being innocent to wild, cool, then fierce.
Kylie plays Daisy in The Housemaid, a woman in her 20s who is offered a huge salary mainly to take care of Nami, daughter of William (Albert Martinez), a billionaire, and Roxanne (Louise Delos Reyes), who is pregnant with twins.
Nagtagumpay si Daisy na makuha ang loob ng batang inaalagaan but that’s not all. Nakuha din niya ang atensyon ng kanyang boss. William begins to secretly flirt with Daisy, enticing her with glasses of wine and his piano playing, and they eventually begin a sexual relationship.
Hindi naman nahalata ng asawa ni William na may lihim na namamagitan sa kanya at sa karakter ni Albert. But there is someone in the mansion that Daisy cannot fool. At ito ay si Martha (Jaclyn Jose), ang mayordoma ng mansion. Alam niya ang lahat ng mga nangyayari sa loob ng bahay.
Directed by Roman Perez, The Housemaid is an adaptation of a South Korean film that was first shown in 1960, then had a remake in 2010, originally entitled Hanyo. The latter won awards in different international film festivals, including Fantasporto in Portugal, Oslo Film from the South Festival, and even our very own Cinemanila International Festival.
Nakatanggap din ito ng nominasyon sa Palme d’Or, the highest prize awarded at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival.
Ayon kay Direk Roman, pareho niyang pinanood ang Korean versions ng pelikula para alamin ang kaibahan at pagkakapareho nito. He guarantees that he was able to incorporate the Filipino context and adapt it to the treatment of this film.

Pero aniya, she had complete trust in the style and process of his director who was praised for directing the erotic thriller film Adan.
“We got all the actors we wanted for the role. We chose the actors for this project. This is a very timely film. And yes, this can also join film festivals abroad eventually,” wika ni Direk Roman.
